On Thursday 3rd March, Dartington C of E Academy celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite book characters!
The children and teachers could either:
a) Dress up as a character/person/animal from their favourite book
b) Bring in a teddy dressed up as a character/person/animal from their favourite book
c) Decorate or paint a potato to look like a character/person/animal from their favourite book
Everyone who took part was entered into a raffle to win a World Book Day prize!
Here are just a few lovely photos we captured on the day!
Because Dartington is a non-uniform school, the children absolutely love to celebrate all of our dress up days and what a perfect opportunity to dress up as their favourite book character! Reading is something we always like to encourage all of our children to do at school and at home. Engaging children in reading experiences presents infinite opportunities for developing language and emergent literacy skills.
